 PFLAG Cleveland is active in community outreach, education, and advocacy. If you're interested in reaching beyond PFLAG Support Group meetings, consider becoming a PFLAG Cleveland Volunteer, offering educational programs to community groups, including universities and schools; businesses and corporations; and faith-based groups requesting our help. Key activities include:

• Speakers Bureau (Participate as a panelist or featured presenter by sharing your story, summarizing and defining LGBTQ+ terms, sharing how to create a welcoming environment, how to be an ally, summarizing current legislative issues important to the LGBTQ+ community )

• Table Staffing (literature distribution; answer questions about PFLAG; share story)

• Advocacy (contact elected officials; responding to local media requests )

• Board Member (becoming a member; assisting in membership drives and fundraising efforts; writing for the bimonthly newsletter; joining our social media and website efforts)

• Serving as a liaison to community groups such as GLSEN Cleveland, TransFamily, ColorsPlus+ Plexus, and the Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Community Center of Cleveland

• Organizing special events (Pride Day Brunch, Pride Parade Events, PFLAG's Annual picnic and periodic social events for members)

• Safe Zone Facilitation (after completing Safe Zone Training with our partners at 'Cuyahoga Community College)

• Sponsoring LGBT Friendly films at local theaters
